Three Round Mock Draft: San Diego Chargers 2014 Edition

Football fans everywhere have highly anticipated the day where they will finally be able to acquire their future of the organization or someone who will be cut within three years of being signed. That day is the beloved “Draft Day”. For you fans that have also seen the new release movie Draft Day, Kevin Costner said it best when he said “Every year someone comes out of this thing looking like a donkey.” Let’s just hope it won’t be San Diego.

ROUND 1: CB Bradley Roby, Ohio State

– San Diego is obviously in desperate need of help at the cornerback position. The defensive secondary in general is weak. The Chargers need a corner who can take on opposing teams #1 receiver. Roby has the skills and the mindset to do that.

Other possible prospects are:

• DT Louis Nix III – Notre Dame

• CB Kyle Fuller – Viginia Tech

ROUND 2: OLB Kyle Van Noy, BYU

KVN is an amazing athlete. He is a force on the outside and is arguably the best pass rusher in this years draft. If Van Noy is still left in the 2nd Round at #25, I expect the Chargers to pounce on him.

Other possible prospects are:

• WR Jordan Matthews – Vanderbilt

• DT Louis Nix III – Notre Dame

ROUND 3: OG Trai Turner, LSU

As of right now San Diego has a pretty solid offensive line. The only weakness is at OG. Turner is a solid pick this late in the draft and would help fill a whole the Chargers need to fill.

Other possible picks are:

• FS Brock Veren – Minnesota

• WR Bruce Ellington – South Carolina

In conclusion, Tom Telesco needs to have another draft like he did last year. He found three starters in the first three rounds. If he is able to pull off another big draft, watch out for the Chargers this year.
